Haapsalu Tagalahe Medical mud
The history of the resort dates back to 1820, when Carl Abraham Hunnius, a circuit doctor, came to work in Haapsalu. While treating the locals, Hunnius came across a unique folk medicine technique - sea mud. During which diseased limbs were placed in sea mud warmed in the sun or heated in a sauna. Dr. Hunnius had the chemical composition of sea mud studied and tested the new mud treatment methodology on his relatives and patients. In 1825, the first water-mud farm was opened in Haapsalu. Undoubtedly, the medicinal mud of Haapsalu Tagalahe is the most studied and widely used marine medicinal mud in Estonia throughout history.

OÜ Ravimuda is a family business engaged in mining, processing and selling therapeutic mud.
The history of the company dates back to 1965, when the founder of the company started mining therapeutic mud in the beautiful seaside town of Haapsalu.​
Haapsalu Tagalahe Ravimuda was widely used in NL. When the Republic of Estonia regained its independence, AS Ravimuda was created, which grew into OÜ Ravimuda in 1997.
